About: Centaur Coffee Roasters

     

Our roots run deep. I started out in 1991 in Northern California, roasting as a hobby on a small air roaster. A few years later, in 2004, I purchased a larger roaster, created Villa Roast, and began selling online and eventually opened up a brick-n-mortar Coffee House. 

I started out a a hobbyist, but transitioned with the advent of Internet, with ideas of an Internet Coffee House, to be named "Cafe Data"

I then moved onto "Villa Roast" (House of Roasting) and built my own webserver using Linux OS, Apache Webserver, MySQL Database, PHP scripting language and PHPShop for E-Commerce & Credit card processing.  This was very successful and became the Brick-n-Mortar referenced above.  This Brand-Name changed because I was very community oriented, I needed a name that resonated with the locals. I lived in an area of the Santa Cruz mountains, a city named Felton, CA. however, historically the area is known as "Zayante" for the indigenous American Indians of the past; Zayante Indians.  We also had a significant creek that ran through and split the Zayante area.  I looked around and saw, "Zayante Creek Equestrian Center", Zayante Creek Bar & Grille", "Zayante Creek Fire Department".  So I pivoted to, "Zayante Creek Coffee Roasters"

Career choices required taking a break from the coffee business

Now in North Port, Florida (2020), I have created a new brand:
